Track Of The Day :: Fold - Oil Powered Drum Machine

Leeds trip hop outfit Fold, who brought us the memorable 'Be Water, My Friend' back in the summer, now have a new single out on December 1.

The double A-side 'Oil-Powered Machine' / 'Detroit Red' is a tribute to Malcolm X, marking 50 years in 2015 since his death, and Michael Ruppert (who died in April of this year). Taking inspiration from Public Enemy, Fold incorporate resounding speeches by both with force, funk and urgency, following in the spirit of  Fold's homage to Bruce Lee on 'Be Water, My Friend'.

'Oil Powered Machine', which is the information side on our dependencey on hydrocarbon energy, is perhaps the more immediate of the two sides, with its steady beat, and if you liked their previous single this will undoubtedly please just as well.

The single will be issued as a hand numbered, limited edition 7" and digital download.
