The alt pop-electro duo Fjord - Thomas Casault and Louis-Étienne Santais - who hail from the Montcalm area of French-speaking Quebec, Canada - released their electronically ambient three-track debut EP 'Where We Lay' (see Bandcamp) back in September, now the pair close off the year with a new single, 'Blue'.
Out this month, 'Blue' follows on from the sound introduced on the EP, with the captivating falsetto vocal ("Often they take me for a girl!") of Casault leading proceedings, over a background wash of lightly clipped electronica.
Recording in a home studio, the pair have a long association, playing together in bands such as Eberleen (Casault playing guitar, bass, and Santais on drums), The Friends, and their first electro-pop project, WE. With Fjord they look set to take on 2015.
