Introducing :: Sleeptalk
Rather a 'cool' debut track from this seemingly new, but seemingly also low profile, New York City trio, released today (December 2).
Produced by the outfit's Joshua Perna, (with hi-hats provided by Gregory Dunn), 'Cool' lives up to its name, opening on some street noise before it rides into a bouncy four-minute groove of smooth vocals and vibrant guitar, and melodic keys and percussion strains.
After dropping a brief black & white video taster on YouTube back in September, nothing had been heard of Sleeptalk until they started to drop hints on their Facebook page a few weeks ago that something was imminent.
Two members of the newly formed Sleeptalk, Perna (vocals, bass) and Aaron Brown (guitar) were, until September both in the four-piece indie rock band out of New Jersey, The Soviet - and it's not too hard to spot a few similarities in this new venture's sound. Third member of the team is Nick Baughman, previously with Hodera.
