Los Angeles power psych quartet Wand are wasting no time in following up their 2014 debut album 'Ganglion Reef', with their second, 'Golem', already recorded (apparently taking a mere 12 days all in; produced by Chris Woodhouse at The Dock in Sacramento, California ) and set for release in March.
Wand, who were signed by Ty Segall to his Drag City imprint God? Records, is fronted by ex-Pangea member Cory Hanson, who has also played with Meatbodies and put out a split with Mikal Cronin (produced by Ty) last April.
The first single from the new album is 'Self Hypnosis in 3 Days'. A squally guitar rocker, with Hanson on lead guitar, and providing the vocal presence which takes a trippy 20 second path halfway through that sounds like it could have been easily lifted from a Sixties psychedelic tune.
'Golem' is out on March 17 thru In The Red.
Wand embark on a North American coast to coast tour at the end of January running through to April.
