When you hear something like this as a debut, it's hard not to pump the air and utter a little 'wow!'
Fat Possum have signed what sounds like a veritable winner to us, in Yak and their official debut single 'Hungry Heart', due on February 24.
The London trio - Oli Burslem, vocals; Elliott Rawson, bass; Andy Jones, drums - made initial ripples last year with the psych-effected ‘Plastic People’, followed by a few low-key, but high energy gigs. Now they begin their onslaught on the ears of the masses proper.
'Hungry Heart' has the psych tendencies of TOY, along with the driven reverberating guitar thrash of Bad Breeding; covering three thundering minutes in a way that just charges its way into your head.
