Listen :: Crystal Seagulls - The Stroke

Released on March 19, 'The Stroke' is the first of a monthly series of releases by London/Essex-based Crystal Seagulls.

A favourite with DJ Steve Lamacq, having been described sounding like "a lovechild of Queens of the Stone Age/Weezer/Royal Blood", you will get the drift before even pressing 'play' that Crystal Seagulls won't exactly be lulling you gently into a warm space; a fiery furnace probably being more likely. 'The Stroke' is punctuated by heavy grunge guitars and drums in an incendiary blaze of sound.

The band will follow this release with 'Sunkissed' in April, 'Red Light' in May, and lastly 'Prize Baby Blues' will drop in June.

Crystal Seagulls play Leestock Festival, Sudbury, Suffolk on May 24.
