Following their return late last year, London's Mt. Wolf continue in the way 'Red', the title track from their soon to he released EP, marked their new look with a new cut entitled 'Hamburg'.
Mt. Wolf, now downsized to the trio of Sebastian (Bassi) Fox, Stevie McMinn and Alex Mitchell after Kate Sproule's leaving to follow a solo path under the name Bo Rocha, have lost none of their ability to craft glistening guitar melodies seeped in atmosphere. At almost six-and-a-half minutes in length, 'Hamburg' is an evocative piece - just wait for its heart-wrenching mid-section - that utilises their signature style of melding folk tinges and light guitar plucks, with electronic percussion and heart-ripping vocals.
Mt. Wolf play London's Cecil Sharp House in Camden on April 15. Thru will also appear at The Great Escape and Wychwood festivals.
'Red' is out on April 13 via X Novo.
