March 20 2015 - Hot Top Ten

THUNDER & CO. - APPLES
Portuguese indie-synth/nu-disco from Lisbon-based producers Rodrigo Gomes and SebastiĆ£o Teixeira. This is the lead single from their upcoming debut 'Nociceptor' album, out in June.

PUBLIC ACCESS T.V. - METROPOLIS
Lead track from the self-titled debut EP arriving this spring by John Eatherly's New York punk/pop three. Following up ‘Monaco', 'Middle Child' and ‘In The Mirror’, and reinforcing why they have been deemed the Big Apple's hottest band right now.

CITIZENS! - WAITING FOR YOUR LOVER
Second single from the London outfit's forthcoming album, 'European Soul', out April 13 via Kitsune / Sony Red. Another pop gem (with Tom Burke's vocals as beguilingly helium-filled and quirky as ever), produced by George Reid (AlunaGeorge). Catch them live at XOYO on April 16.

DARLIA - QUEEN OF HEARTS
New recorded version of the Blackpool three's debut single, out on April 20 via B Unique - although still retaining all its original multiple exploding grunge riffs. "Oh, aurora borealis," indeed. Catch on tour thru April/May.

ASTRAL TRIP - NO PAIN, NO GAIN
Heavy duty sludge fierceness from the Bradford duo (Haydn Wilcox, ex Dolphins, vocals/bass and Nick Millbank, drums) taken from their six-track debut EP released last week.

AARON MOLYNEAUX - GHOST ROADS
Title track from the just released atmospherically acoustic debut EP, by the 22-year-old High Wycombe-based musician we previously featured as Track Of The Day under the Sunrise Device moniker last August.

FALSE ADVERTISING - WASTED AWAY
Fuzz pop melodics in the debut from fresh new Manchester trio - Chris Warr, Josh Sellers and Jen Hingley. Catch them live at Deaf Institute, Manchester on April 3.

THE MOON AND THE TIDE - WITHOUT YOU AROUND
Big anthemic sound (released last week) from the Essex borders six-piece indie rockers, following-up their recent equally impressive debut 'We Can Dance (All Night)'.

TANDEM FELIX - NOTHING I DO WILL EVER BE GOOD ENOUGH
Taken from the Dublin four-piece's 'Comma' EP, out April 27 via Trout Records. Psych folk with warbling sounds of Harrison-esque Leslie speaker guitar and pedal steel, played by veteran steel-guitarist Bobby Lee.

STRANGE NAMES - RICOCHET
The Minnesota twosome that we first heard with this track a year ago, have now added a third man, moved to New York City, and given it a polish-up in preparation for its appearance on their 'Use Your Time Wisely' debut album, out via Frenchkiss Records on May 19.
