We first heard Swedish electronica artist John Alexander Ericson (My Empire Of Sound, Alberta Cross, The Northern Territories) aka The Ghost himself, back in April with debut outing '242'.
Given that '242' was seemingly written about a journey on London's 242 bus route, we are curious this time round with new track '1000 Voices' as to the inspiration here?
'1000 Voices' opens on an icily cold notes (well 'Helags' is the name of a mountain range that straddles the border between Sweden and Norway, so perhaps fitting) that broaden out over five minutes with the ethereal vocals of Berlin singer Chloe (the track was recorded in Berlin as part of sessions for an album, due for later release) and atmospheric beats that build over electronic layers of sound.
Classy, minimal, and highly affecting.
