Back in June it was reported that Deerhunter's Bradford Cox has announced during a set with his side-project outfit Atlas Sound, that a new Deerhunter album was coming “really soon” and that it “sounds like INXS”.
Now, after fevered speculation, things have taken a step up with the band posting a link on their website via Facebook late last night - which includes a countdown to 11PM this Sunday. By giving your name and email address you are then directed to a “Faulkner” (the name of Bradford Cox's dog, apparently) page - click here - which consists only of a bizarre gif of what looks like Cox’s face turning into a dog.
All very mysterious. While no official word has come from Deerhunter themselves, online retailer MusicDirect has a pre-order page for a new Deerhunter album, 'Fading Frontier', although they’re listing the release date as October 16.
