GEMS follow up their dreamy R&B flavoured 'Medusa' debut EP of 2013 with first album, ‘Kill The One You Love’, announced for release on October 30 thru Carpark Records.
The album was mixed by Damian Lazar (Bjork, Mas Ysa) and mastered by Emily Lazar (Sia, Haim), and in a press release for the album it is stated that “Kill The One You Love is an album of hurt, longing, and the beauty found in that space between. It’s music for the heartbroken but hopeful.”
First single to be taken from the record is 'Living as a Ghost'. The Washington D.C duo, now LA-based, Lindsay Pitts and Clifford John Usher, offer a catchy dreampop delight full of shimmering hooks with Usher's guitar and electronic production interspersed with Pitts' soaring vocal glaze.
