Listen :: Richard Ashcroft returns with new single 'This Is How It Feels'
Words: Ellie Ward
There's been a Richard Ashcroft-shaped hole in music for a long time. Certainly in terms of recorded material we have seen nothing since he emerged under the pseudonym of RPA & The United Nations of Sound with the album 'United Nations of Sound' in 2010 (which was released in the US the following year under his own name).
Live there has been little sighting bar the ex-Verve man's US TV appearance backed by The Roots, until November last year when he unexpectedly appeared at Mexico City's 70,000 capacity Corona Capital festival.
Now the new single from Ashcroft, 'This Is How It Feels, was premiered this morning (February 22) on Chris Moyles' show on Radio X.
There will also be a new album 'These People', out on May 20. Pre-order via richardashcroft.com.
Listen below.
[Update]
Ashcroft has announced he will play two live dates in support of the album: May 14 at Albert Hall in Manchester, followed by London Roundhouse on May 16. Tickets on sale from 9am this Friday (February 26).
