Self-produced and released as a single earlier this month, 'Backwards/Medicated' by Melbourne's Braille Face is one of the most bewitching and chilled electronic jams to come our way this year.
'Backwards/Medicated' was produced by Braille Face - aka Jordan White - and mixed by Australian triple J radio presenter and musician Tim Shiel - on whose Spirit Level label (formed with producer Wally de Backer, aka Gotye) both this and White's April debut single 'Glow' are released.
The intoxicating electronica soundscape of 'Backwards/Medicated' is both brooding and melancholic, resting on an intricate pattern of percussive loops around which layers of synthesisers soar and piano notes swirl, while White’s plaintive vocals disarm and hypnotise.
A debut album is expected later this year.
