'Why Don't We Take A Walk By The Sea?' is the first single from The Caress, an alt-pop rock three-piece from New Cross, South East London, made up of three brothers - Tom, Ben and Sam Easton - and who could well be a new band to keep track of over the next year, as this is a very promising start.

Inspired by the sound of Phil Spector, 60s girl bands, and Northern Soul, the three brothers formed The Caress in December last year, "when Tom sent me a home demo of 'WDWTAWBTS', which sampled the drums on Joanie Summers 'Don't Pity Me' and it was a complete departure from what we had done before," explains bassist Ben Easton.

'Why Don't We Take A Walk By The Sea?' is definitely a grower of a track, with lightly textured vocals which were recorded with natural reverb from a live room, double tracked and then effects added, and some nice guitar riffs coming in the second half  of the track. Lyrically, the track is about "feeling trapped inside a city and the urge to escape. Also, it's written in response to a lot of people our age getting priced out of London as well," says Ben.

See the video for the track below, which filmed by the sea in Hastings, and features actor Laurie Kynaston, who portrays a young Johnny Marr in the new biopic Steven, based on Morrissey's early life in Manchester.

The Caress are: Tom Easton (vocals/guitar), Ben Easton (bass/vocals), Sam Easton (drums/vocals).
