Little Indie curates night for Blogtober bringing Tibet and White Room to London

Words: Linn Branson

Tibet, White Room, FLING and Lunar Quiet will be playing Little Indie's show at this month's Blogtober festival at The Finsbury venue in north London on Thursday October 20.

Tickets are free but limited and getting pretty busy, so reserve your place in the room by Facebook RSVP with a click here.

TIBET

Tibet have been frequent visitors to Little Indie's pages - even dabbling in writing a live review themselves for us - and have just got better and better each time we have seen them this year, including outstanding sets at The Great Escape and Bushstock festivals. Expect driving Welsh exuberance, soaring vocals, perfect indie guitar riffs - and a bare-chested drummer. Add into the mix some great harmonies, Arctic Monkeys style hooks and you have a perfect headliner.

WHITE ROOM

Psych guitars and crackling riffs, crashing tambourines; rousing part Britpop, part psychedelia, with resonant drums and raucous vocal distortion from Jake Smallwood and you get a feel of what Brighton's White Room are about - and why they have been causing such a stir in their live outings this year.

FLING

Trekking down the motorway from Bradford, zany four-piece FLING look certain to bring a lively element to The Finsbury's stage. Swaggeringly helmed by charismatic 18-year-old Charles McSorley, they are described as "combining the folktronica of The Beta Band, the psychedelic grooves of ‘Screamadelica’ era Primal Scream and the visceral turn of phrase of The Fat White Family" - which should be enough to whet anyone's appetite.

LUNAR QUIET

They may be quiet by name, but this emerging Brighton band are certainly up to providing some loud and intoxicating sounds, taking the post-punk tautness of Eagulls, the melodic immersion of DIIV, and My Bloody Valentine's reverbed distortion to create some epic psych-noise soundwaves.

Blogtober is ongoing now with 31 nights throughout October of free new music curated by some of the country's top music blogs including CLASH, For Folk's Sake, Indie Shuffle, Amazing Radio, Gigslutz, The Line Of Best Fit - and of course, us!

The Finsbury is situated at 336 Green Lanes, N4 1BY. Nearest tube station is Manor House (2 minute walk), with buses 29, 141, 341 stopping outside venue.
