SUNBATHERS - SUGAR
From when we first heard them ai year ago with 'Intimacy', the Washington DC/Baltimore indie rock quintet have never offered anything less than bliss. Sean Lynott once again hits the falsetto highnotes on this new track released this week, where they work perfectly around sweetly tuned synth, percussion and effective drums.
Follow-up to March's 'Mode' album from a new name on us, LA-by-way-of-DC electronic pop artist Brett. Infectiously catchy with a killer chorus, this is the kind of song that becomes an earworm. Taken from the new EP, 'Die Young', out on cassette via 10K Islands on November 11.
LAZY DAY - DISAPPEAR
London-based dreampop four meld a shoegaze essence and driving melodies behind Tilly Scantlebury’s stunning vocals. The single will be officially released as a 7” single on November 4 via Lost Map Records. Catch live on November 10 at The Victoria, Dalston in London.

Newly signed to London-based label Good Years, which is hardly surprising as 17-year-old George van den Broek from Haslemere, Surrey has come up with one hell of a debut here. The bedroom producer with an outstanding soulful voice delivers evocative and penetrating lyrics in this woozy, jazz-infused track.

Released today, the new track from multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter John Elliott. Produced by Graeme Stewart (Jonny Greenwood, Radiohead), it takes cinematic strings to combine with minimalist electronics and hypnotic piano loops and Elliott’s affecting vocals. Released at the end of September, this latest power alt-rock anthem from the North-East three-piece sees them up their power stomp game, with electric guitar and heavy throbbing bass lines and crashing drums.
PAREKH & SINGH - PHILOSOPHIZE
West Bengal duo (Nischay Parekh -lead vocals, guitar, keys synths; Jivraj Singh - drums, drum machines) employ Western textures and lyrics - "New York state of mind in Indian standard time" - on this latest track, released today via Peacefrog Records, which places minimal production over lightly textured indie pop synths. Taken from their 'Ocean' debut album out on October 28.
PALE HONEY - REAL THING
Out today, Tuva Lodmark lends her captivating vocals to the Swedish outfit's first offering since last year's self-titled debut. Dark-edged, hard indie, of driving guitars and punchy lyrics: “You’re the one / you’re my wet dream”. Catch live at The Lexington, London on October 27
ESCAPISTS - SILENCE
Five-minute-plus panoramic double AA-side single (w/'Animals') out on October 21, from the London-based quartet. Bold melodic lines of tinkling piano and searing synths sear into the mind, before a psych guitar outro completely owns it. Catch live at Electrowerkz, London on November 1.
