** VIDEO PREMIERE ** VITO - Masquerade

Words: Linn Branson

Little Indie first came by Newcastle indie four-piece VITO in September, after they had been steadily building up their profile in the North East, with support shows to the likes of Get Inuit, amongst others.

After we wrote about the young band (all aged 17 - 21) at the beginning of October, it wasn't long before they caught the attention of End Of The Trail Records who promptly signed them up to their growing stable of emerging young acts.

As we had previously said, while VITO had earlier aired a demo of 'Sweet Talk' (now removed online), 'Masquerade' is to be their official first offering, released on Friday January 13 2017 (superstition - pah!) through End Of The Trail Records / Rough Trade Distribution. The track, recorded and produced by the band and mastered by Pete Maher (U2, The Killers, Noel Gallagher, Jack White), is a catchy, foot-tapping indie number, that soars nicely on lively guitar riffs, Tom Conway's vocals and harmonies.

"'Masquerade' is a love song to the city you were born in, but also about wanting to get out and do bigger and better things," guitarist Andy Bell tells Little Indie.

The track's classy monochrome video, produced by Callum of CSD Videography, which Little Indie is sharing first view of here, shows the band performing 'Masquerade' at Jumpin' Jacks venue in Newcastle, intercut with scenes on the streets of the city.

VITO are: Tom Conway - vocals, guitar; Andy Bell - guitar, vocals; Ben Houlton - bass, vocals; Dom Willis - drums.
