So, this sounds like February...Part 1

As February dawns with dark and chilly morns, we at Little Indie are staying snug indoors with our collective ears clamped to the latest sounds to come our way.

MISTY COAST - HEAVY HEAD ON A BODY
Produced by Matias Tellez and released via Club AC30 in the UK and Europe on January 27, the floating psych-pop follow-up to last year's 'Funny World' from The Megaphonic Thrift members, Norwegians Linn Frøkedal and Richard Myklebust, here as Misty Coast.

PIP HALL - TURN OVER
More mature, lo-fi dark-pop textures in the follow-up to last year's debut 'Devil You Don’t', from the 16-year-old Preston songwriter we introduced here last July. Taken from her second EP ‘James’ - out March 10 via My Little Empire Records.

AUGUST - GHOSTS
New pulsing synthwave single from London-based Steve Hughes, and title track from the upcoming EP, which comes on the heels of mesmeric first offering 'SWORD' last summer.

THE CROOKED KINGS - CASTAWAY
London-based indie rock quartet with lead single from just released EP, mixing dirty guitars, banging drums and thumping bass lines, with an electronic spin.

FAMILY FRIENDS - I'M LIKE YOU
Brother-sister duo follow-up to 'Look The Other Way', both taken from the forthcoming EP due February 24 via Beatnik Creative. Rebecca Fitzsimons provides hazy vocals over garage rock chords filled with reverb and distortion.

TOURISTS - MASQUERADE
Close to seven-minute atmospheric dreampop opus, released at the end of January, by the five-piece. Produced by James Bragg (Gengahr/Saltwater Sun), it blends Jamie Giles’s vocal with gritty guitar and a psyched-out synths.

OVER THE TREES - DIRT FROM YESTERDAY
Oslo-based five-piece turn a shoegaze bent on this latest track from new album, 'From the Sidewalk' out later this year via KAjAK Recordings.

HUSKY LOOPS - FIGHTING MYSELF
Emerging London-based Italian threesome fusing punk pop fused with a thumping bass line and hypnotic repetition of the title line. From the debut EP out on April 7.

DESSERT - CHECKMATE
Los Angeles-based atmospheric electronic pop, from the debut EP 'Songs For Children' - being issued as a candle (yes, you did read that correctly).

BAD WAVE - TIME TO GET LOST
Another LA outfit (this time a duo: Tucker Tota and Patrick Hart) with their latest single of electronica and distortion - a track about the feeling of dismay over the recent US election - which is released on February 17 via LA and Miami-based label 10K Islands.

CHINAH - EVEN LOVE
Released at the end of January, latest from the Copenhagen trio, melding 80s influenced electro pop textures with shimmering atmospheric synths and electronic drums.

IOLITE - BLOODSTREAM
Dark sultry R&B/electro pop from the Denver singer-songwriter. Magnetic vocal and lyrically delving into the pain people we love can inflict on us, but “that’s when you know you love someone, when you can really feel it in your bones and in your heart.”
