Track Of The Day :: The Cult Collective - Bizzy Lizzy

Words: Ellie Ward

Little Indie first featured the then recently formed West Midlands three-piece (previously part of Birmingham outfit, Thieves) The Cult Collective, almost a year ago with debut 'Here Come The Cynics'.

Now there's a new single in the form of 'Bizzy Lizzy', released last week. With tongue-in-cheek lyrics, chugging riffs and indie pop harmonies laid over catchy melodies, there's a hint to the band's inspirational forces The Strokes, The Cribs and Arctic Monkeys.

Taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'Seeking Thrills' (to be released late spring), the track, the boys tell us, has a rather naughty theme "about sleeping with someone that you shouldn't have slept with, and having huge regrets about it after". Which is as far as they're going on that one ("we can't go into too much detail as we'd probably get into a fair bit of trouble!"), though you can be assured they're not talking about the flowering impatiens walleriana - for all the Titchmarsh types.

Expect to hear more from The Cult Collective, with a further track to precede the EP comimg next month.
