So, this sounds like...March Pt 1
As we head into the month of mad hares, we at Little Indie are staying sane with our ears on the latest tunes around. Some of what we have been loving over the last weeks we now unveil for you.
WINSTONS - ENOUGH
Soulful garage rock second single from the Virginian duo, now Brooklyn, New York-based outfit, who sound like they've rolled right out of the 60s.
WEIRDO - MOTHER OF PEARL
Josh Christopher - formerly of IYES, now with Pierre Leck and Rene Corbett as the WEIRDO three - unveils latest single, released via their new label imprint, Virtuous Sound’.
CRYSTAL CITIES - WHO'S GONNA SAVE US NOW
Title track from the Sydney indie dream-rockers debut EP released March 3. The three-piece blend shoegaze elements in an indie pop setting, complemented by Geoff Rana’s vocals.
SAD VEGAN - NEW YEARS, NO FEARS
Debut pop-punk single from the California quintet, taken from their debut EP 'Another Life, Another Day', released March 3, that bursts out on catchy riffs and melodic twists, and an unusual vocal.
MT. WOLF - THE ELECTRIC
The London-based trio return with this latest evocative six-and-a-half minute track. Taken from their as yet untitled debut LP, its sonic, cinematic qualities are lush and evocative.
SLEEPTALK - LOVE
New cut from the LA-based space-rock five-piece from their forthcoming full-length out this spring on Gold Standard Records, following 'Indio, California'. "This song is about being lost in a relationship," says vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick. "Not knowing if the other person in the relationship feels the same way as you do, but knowing they can count on you to be there when they need you the most."
NO JOY - HELLHOLE
The Montreal shoegazers' share the latest cut from their (Ariel Pink collaborator) Jorge Elbrecht-produced 'Creep' EP, released last month, combining their standard fuzz pop textures with effects and synths.
ORCHID COLLECTIVE - WAITED ON THE SUN
New three-minute-plus single from the Dublin-based quartet's debut EP. A melding of rousing alt-folk-rock, blissed out melodies and optimistic vocals.
STEVE BUSCEMI'S DREAMY EYES - CLOSER
The Stockholm-based, curiously named outfit fuse math-like guitar riffs, heavy bass, lush synths and featuring Matilda Wiezell's vocals on this single out via Rama Lama Records.
COURAGE - WILD AT HEART
The London producer brings in London-via-Bogota electronic singer Lao Ra, for this dreamy synthpop ballad, with Lao Ra’s ethereal vocals set to the backdrop of throbbing electronic bass and strings.
NO VACATION - MIND FIELDS
Dreamy, Beach House-influenced break-up ode from the San Francisco indie-pop five-piece, fronted by the hazy vocals of guitarist Sabrina Mai.
