"Go outside/have a smoke/'cause we’re broke" laments Australia's Archy Punker on the absolutely wonderful and scuzzy four-minutes-forty of surf-punk debut single 'Kiss In The Rain', released last Friday (March 17).
Archy Punker, originally the solo project of Wollongong, New South Wales vocalist/guitarist Kyle Willoughby - the titular Archy - and now encompassing Kyle Squires on guitar, Harry Llewellyn, bass, and Anton Petkovic, drums, share this first track from their forthcoming debut EP 'Mates Rates' - and if the rest of the record follows suit, it'll be a bonzer record, we think, mate.
Kyle's raw vocal touch on 'Kiss In The Rain' is both as ear-catching as it is endearingly DIY as it ranges over the sharp garage-punkgaze melodies that are hard to resist.
A super good intro.
