Great name, great band, great sound. Leeds' "trash punk" threesome Dead Naked Hippies, who we featured here in December with their Matt Peel-produced debut single 'Lights Out', are back with a just as stonking a follow-up.
'Drain You', released on April 22 via Dance To The Radio, is, say the band, “a ‘fuck you’ to the voice that says you can’t. Don’t be a bystander, be strong minded and take control. Grab what you want with both hands. Lose your filter.” The gritty number sees Lucy Jowett’s vocals in just as strong a front position as Joe Clarke's sharp guitar riffs work around a cacophony of pounding drums.
Catch Dead Naked Hippies live on March 16 at The Old Red Bus Station in Leeds, with WUZI and Jellyskin.
