Foo Fighters announce special O2 Arena show and their own California festival

Words: Jacob Ball

Following their storming headline set at Glastonbury last weekend, everyone's favourite stadium rockers Foo Fighters have now announced a show at London's 02 Arena on September 19.

The show will celebrate the venue's 10th birthday, and for the Foo Fighters represents something of an intimate gig and might just  be the closest you ever get to Saint Grohl and co., considering they're normally more used to spraying their sizeable riffs over 90,000 people in stadiums. So make sure your're ready with your finger on the buy key, as tickets are already available for 02 priority customers and general sale is from 4pm today (June 28) by clicking here.

This latest news from the Foos' camp follows details of their ninth studio album 'Concrete and Gold' which is to be released on September 15 via Columbia Records, and their own one-off festival, Cal Jam 17.

The event will take place on October 7 at Glen Helen Regional Park in San Bernardino, California, and will see the band headline their biggest one day festival alongside a line-up which includes Queens of the Stone Age, Liam Gallagher, The Kills, Wolf Alice and Royal Blood. After going back to their grunge roots on the fabulously filthy yet singalong single 'Run', fan excitement for the new record is building and these unique shows will only increase the hype.
