New tracks coming up from Down Under

Little Indie casts its ears and eyes over more of the latest sounds to emerge recently from Down Under.

THE PLAYBOOK - REACH

From the Melbourne pop-punk quintet's debut album, 'All I Am Is What You Left Behind', due later this year, 'Reach' is a rampant, sub three-minute force with vocal calls, singalong hooks and bouncy riffs.

OVER-REACTOR - JUDGEMENT DAY

Melbourne duo Over-Reactor are set to release 'Cocaine Headdress', their first new album in over five years, on July 7, and this track sees vocalist Ezekiel Ox and drummer Cory Blight wrap its pulsing bass drum and synth lines in layered, off-kilter textures.

THE BOMBAY ROYALE - BALLYGUNGE

Melbourne's Bollywood collective The Bombay Royale give a taste of their forthcoming third studio album ‘Run Kitty Run’ - released August 11 - with its lead track which melds synths and electro-psych funk.

CARMOUFLAGE ROSE - LATE NIGHTS

The Zimbabwe-born, now Brisbane-based MC and producer readys his debut album 'R O S E L E V E L' - out this autumn through Bedlam Records - with this dance-flavoured, dark R&B track which combines Travis Scott-esque hip hop rap.

BLEACH DREAM - DROWN IN COLOURS

Melbourne's electronic indie duo, Marty Greensil and Dave O’Kane, are about to release their debut album 'Saudade' next month, and this just released second single taken from it flows on lush dreampop guitar, lo-fi vocal harmonies, and a Cure/DIIV-like bass line.

HOUSE HOUNDS - KARAMEL

Brisbane indie-pop trio House Hounds unveiled their 'Saturate' EP last week, from which lead single 'Karamel' is taken. Layering guitar effects, 70s-influenced vintage synths and a frisson of psychedelia, it straddles an alt-rock/dreampop groove.
