Track Of The Day :: Seegulls - Eat, Lazarus, Eat
Words: Ellie Ward
The latest from Chester's Seegulls, 'Eat, Lazarus, Eat', released last week, may channel the difficult subject of eating disorders and relationships with food, but its vibrant melodic structure is upbeat.
The five-piece - who all met at university - fill out the three-minutes-plus of 'Eat, Lazarus, Eat' with an explosive punk ferocity that builds in a fast-paced intensity, and lyrically sees frontman, James Kitchen, packing a lot more heat.
"I wanted to tackle a subject that is wrongly considered taboo in eating disorders and 'Lazarus' kinda just appeared," he says.
Seegulls play Manchester's Aatma on June 23, followed by Chester Live festival on June 24.
