Words: Ellie Ward
There may not be many current bands hailing from seaside town of Scarborough, in North Yorkshire, but alt-indie four-piece THE FEENS could be the one to put the town on the musical map.
After forming in September 2016, The FEENS (formerly known as Empire) have since set out gigging extensively in the local area - including this year's Coastival Festival - building up a following since their live debut in June this year - and catching the ears of BBC Introducing North Yorkshire where they were invited to perform a live session.
After recording their debut EP with (local musician and founder of Village Records) Tom Townsend and putting out first demo songs, 'Freedom' and 'This Time' on Soundcloud, their official debut single, 'Wrong Move' (below), was released last week.
Catch the band live this Saturday (October 14) at Scarborough's Indigo Alley.
The FEENS are: Freddie Schmuck (vocals/guitar), Perrie Bunton (drums), Sam Dowling (lead guitar), Adam Lodge (bass).
