Hip-hop punks from Warrnambool in South West Victoria, Australia, RUNK, precede their upcoming EP 'Things Will Go Well', out January 3 2018, with its first single, 'Can I Speak To The Manager?'.
The funk-infused rap-rock number, released last week, features the barely 16 year old vocalist Jacob Pugh - and the other three not much older - who delivers the raw and honest, yet wryly amusing, lyrics of customer service life.
Combining "funky, melodic guitar riffs of Tom Bruckner, the crunchy, obese bass lines of Harry Johnson and the head nod inspiring drum grooves of Matt Murray", RUNK have already put out their first EP, ‘Y.E.T.I’, of their genre-blending sound that takes from the raw energy of the Wu Tang Clan, to the guitar work of the Arctic Monkeys, and the swinging reggae/rock sound popularized by Sticky Fingers.
