Parquet Courts share 'Almost Had To Start A Fight/In And Out Of Patience' video

After their 2016 'Human Performance' LP, Parquet Courts are now gearing up to release 'Wide Awake!' on May 18 via Rough Trade Records.

Produced by Danger Mouse - aka Brian Burton - Parquet Courts have shared the record's lead single, 'Almost Had To Start A Fight/In And Out Of Patience'. As the split title suggests, it’s a track built of two distinct halves: the first revolving around Andrew Savage’s barked vocal, the second, more a dancey groove.

Regarding the Danger Mouse collab, Savage had this to say: “The ethos behind every Parquet Courts record is that there needs to be change for the better, and the best way to tackle that is to step out of one’s comfort zone. I personally liked the fact that I was writing a record that indebted to punk and funk, and Brian’s a pop producer who’s made some very polished records. I liked that it didn’t make sense.”
