Sing & Tell :: The Horse Heads

After a series of sweaty punk basement shows and the release of debut single (and Steve Lamacq favourite) ‘Castles', The Horse Heads are back with their latest offering 'Questions' - released on February 23 - is influenced by the weight of stress when prioritising a substantial amount of jobs whilst trying to live an independent life.

Who are you?

We're The Horse Heads. I'm Ronaldo Rodriguez (vocals, guitar). And there's George Young (drums), Brad Sadler (bass), Tom Andrews (guitar).

Tell us something about yourself and how you came to be where you are today?

We're from Chelmsford, Essex and we play loud punk music and have been for about five years now.

Give us an idea of your musical style and influences.

Joy Division, Underground Heroes, Iggy Pop.

Explain the production and writing process behind your songs.

The song was produced by our mate James. We had the song for some months till we realised the right thing to do was to go back to James in terms of production. He also worked with us on our first release, 'Castles'.

Tell us a little about your new single.

'Questions' is a 'fuck you' to anyone stopping you from doing what you want to do and was influenced by the weight of stress and pressure when prioritising a substantial amount of jobs into importance while living an independent life. It was released through Cool Thing Records today. Shout out the Cool Thing family.

Can we catch up with you at any forthcoming live shows?

We will be supporting Slaves (DJ Set) tonight (February 2) at Bassment in Chelmsford. Future shows will be announced soon, keep an eye out for the Cool Thing calendar.

How's the rest of the year looking, plans-wise?

Expect more music, shows and projects. Video for 'Questions' also out soon.

Where can we hear more of your music?

Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music. Also, look out for future shows.

What social media platforms can we find you on?
