Track Of The Day :: Peace - Power

Words: Ellie Ward

After returning in December with ‘From Under Liquid Glass’, Peace have made a start on 2018 with a new single, ‘Power’.

Premiered last night (February 8) by Annie Mac on her BBC Radio 1 show as her 'Hottest Record In The World', and released today on new label Ignition Records, the song being inspired by the watching of a thunderstorm is a big, flowing tune with some power chords and standout vocal from Harry Koisser that show Peace certainly do still have the power.

“I watched a giant, pulsating, lightening bolt land near the farmhouse and I instantly associated it with the electricity and power of the kids we'd been quaking with for the last five years at our shows," says Koisser of the Simone Felice (The Lumineers, Bat For Lashes)-produced track which was recorded in the mountains of Woodstock in New York State.

"I was inspired to write a song that was [the] answer to their question. I guess it ended up being a call to arms. 'Power' is a song about booting down the door to delirious glory and charging heart first into the world-wide banquet of love.”

Peace play Omeara, London on February 13.
