South London's Sorry have nothing at all to be sorry about on their shared their new single 'Showgirl'.
The follow-up to ‘Home Demo/ns Vol II’ mixtape they put out at the start of the year, 'Showgirl' (with 7" flipside 'Twinkle') - a song about “awkwardness, lusting from afar, desire and disgust” - was produced by Frank Ocean and James Blake collaborator Sean Oakley.
“Come on to the club, to the club/ Come on, get soft, get soft,” sings Asha Lorenz, as a counterpoint to taught guitar lines and fidgety drums. The Johnny Goddard-directed video for 'Showgirl', filmed in a claret coloured hue, combines footage of the band performing the track with other film noir type images.
Catch Sorry at The Great Escape today (Thursday) at The Haunt, and at London's Courtyard Theatre on June 26.
