Track Of The Day :: Sea Girls - Too Much Fun

Words: Linn Branson

"And I heard that you’re a cannibal / Well I’m an animal, I’m an animal / Take off all your clothes / Ready set go, ready set go"

Sounds like Henry Camamile is having a bit 'Too Much Fun', going by the above lines from this new Sea Girls single!

Premiered last night (May 7) by Huw Stephens on Radio 1, the track is taken from their upcoming EP ‘Adored’, out on June 5. As we have now come to expect from Sea Girls, 'Too Much Fun' is helmed by Camamile's impossibly addictive vocal (one of the best around today, it may be argued), that for those still missing Chapel Club's Lewis Bowman's style, this is going to be up your street.

“It’s a city story about a complicated chaotic summer of love," explains Camamile. "It's about capturing the excitement and anticipation from our youth. Triggered by hearing a siren out the window, the lyrics are of memories flooding back of the previous summer’s excess, humour and playing with fire. And what’s more dangerous than crossing your best friend. Terrible behaviour.

“The words 'wanna see the king play in the park' harks to reading about Bowie playing at a bandstand in Beckenham and us all seeing the Kings Of Leon as kids forming the crazed idea of forming a band together one day that could support them. Fundamentally it’s telling someone, maybe a friend that they party a little too much, too often. Maybe that’s the letter of love...”

Scroll down for Sea Girls' extensive festival schedule, which will be followed by a UK headline tour in October. Support comes from The Pale White, except Newcastle, where Vistas support. Tickets are on sale now here
