Words: Ellie Ward
You'll be humming the title line of this new single by Leeds quartet Far Caspian both along while listening - and after. 'Let’s Go Outside', the second track taken from their forthcoming debut EP, out via UK label Dance To The Radio, has an irresistible hazy flow to it and the vocal delivery from Joel Johnston is just perfect for a summer swooner.
The dreamy delight of a track - also produced by Joel and which was released this week - follows 'Holding On' which brought them to attention earlier in the year.
Having not long moved to England from his native Ireland, the frontman and guitarist used the upheaval as the basis of 'Let’s Go Outside’s themes.
“Although it's a pretty upbeat instrumental, the lyrics touch on depression and feeling far from something you could call home,” states Joel. “The whole EP is loosely based on my experiences of moving to England and feeling a disconnect to living in a new city for the first time.”
Listen here. We think you'll like it!
