Little Indie One To Watch band, Bristol's Swimming Girls, have dropped a new single. ‘Asking For It' is out today (July 13) via Yucatan Records.
Premiered by Phil Taggart on Radio One earlier in the week, the break-up song, co-produced by the band with Richard Woodcraft, follows the quartet's ‘Back of Your Car’ at the start of the year.
Vocalist Vanessa Gimenez chills with her lush vocal atop a steady beat and their most trademark effervescent rhythms, although lyrically the song is not so light.
“‘Asking For It’ is a blunt break up song, says Vanessa. "Written at the bitter end of a relationship, it explores the distinct lack of sympathy you feel after being hurt over and over again.”
