London's BirdyHop are 'In Over My Head' on revamped release

Words: Ellie Ward

Released August 3, BirdyHop's 'In Over My Head' is a 'remodelled' version of the original alt-rockgaze track from 2016, written "on a sunlit hill during a period when the chaotic eventfulness of the outside world mirrored our own", by the London-based sibling duo, Chris and James Goldsmith.

"It's a meditation on the helplessness of change, questioning yourself and others about loss," they say, of the soft soul vocal, twanging guitar and dulcet beats number, that bears echoes of Chris Isask. "My brother and I recorded it in our living room, using electric guitar loops, retro drum machines and old synthesizer to build to a sonic crescendo."
