As Camden prepares to get its Rocks off, we look at what's on offer

Taking place this coming weekend at various venues throughout Camden, north London, the annual Camden Rocks will for the first time be spread over two days, Saturday and Sunday, June 1 - 2.

With 400+ acts playing at 20 venues, headliners include Frank Turner, Deaf Havana, The Pigeon Detectives, New Model Army, Ash, Ratboy, Wheatus, and Carl BarĂ¢t.

But look further down the list and you'll find some artists rising through the ranks, that are worth booking your wristband in for. Here, we choose just a few for your venue-hopping two days that are worth getting in the queue early for.

Bands get under way on both days from 12 midday, and if you plan on being an early starter, try Cross Wires (12.00, Saturday) at The Good Mixer, No Violet (1.30, Saturday) at Dingwalls Canalside, The Soapgirls (12.00, Sunday) at Dingwalls, Sugarthief (1.30, Sunday) at The Hawley Arms.

Late partiers can sample Frank Turner (8.45 Saturday) at the Electric Ballroom, or New Model Army who are on at the same time around the corner at The Underworld. On Sunday there's an 8.45 choice between The Wonder Stuff at The Underworld, or you could go for Glass Peaks (8.30) at Dingwalls Canalside, followed on stage at 9.30 by The Gulps.

The Blinders, replacing Pretty Vicious (who had to pull out) at Dingwalls on Saturday evening (7.30), are an inspired choice and sure to be a full house.

Three highly worthy bands repping Scotland on Saturday is the triple Glasgow whammy of The Dunts (4.30, Dr Martens), Rascalton (6.00, The Monarch) and Heavy Rapids (6.15, Camden Assembly).

Also worth cramming in to your schedule, if you can:

Saturday: Sick Love (2.00, Dublin Castle), King Nun (2.00, Dingwalls), Dutch Mustard (2.00, Music & Beans), Bang Bang Romeo (3.15, Dingwalls), The Estevans (4.00, Hawley Arms), Milk Teeth (4.00, Electric Ballroom), Bitch Falcon (6.30, Dingwalls Canalside), On Video (8.30, Dingwalls Canalside)

Sunday: Luna Bay (1.15, Dingwalls), The Pearl Harts (4.00, The Monarch), Al Moses (4.30, Music & Beans), Saint Agnes (5.20, Camden Assembly), Hands Off Gretel (8.30, Camden Assembly), Average Sex (10.00, Belushis), Bless. (11.15, Belushis)
