LA girls Automatic are 'Calling It'

Words: Sam Geary

LA synth-punk girls Automatic, just signed to Stones Throw Records, have dropped their first single for the label this week.

The trio - Izzy Glaudini (synths, vocals), Kevin Haskins' (Bauhaus) daughter Lola Dompé (drums, vocals) and Halle Saxon (bass, vocals) - are 'Calling It' on the punchy synth-punk track.

From the cymbals entrance to the fuzzy synth, hypnotic bass line and enticing monotone vocals (“The room is getting smaller / So leave it if you gotta / A picture of your changing face / Another standing in its place"), there's a dark club aesthetic to the track that makes its presence felt in under two and a half minutes.

Catch Automatic live tonight (June 7) at Froth's (Burger Records) album launch show at the Lodge Room in Highland Park, Los Angeles.

Tune in below.
