Taken from his forthcoming EP, 'UP', released on September 27 via Caroline International, South London-via-Brighton's soulful singer-songwriter Max Pope shares a new track and its animated video, 'Foot Of The Hill'.

The lyric video, animated by Jonny Sanders, also features drawings by Pope's mother, Katherine Richards.

“The image of a house falling down is a powerful one for me," says Pope. "The end of an era, of a lifetime. Decades of people who have been and gone and all existed between four sturdy walls. Buildings are strong and permanent, it’s difficult to imagine them crumbling down. When they do, they just seem sad and unexpectedly fleeting. When I was growing up I realised that the same impermanence can apply to people. My darling mother made the drawings for this video and it was a joy to collaborate with her, having shared so many of my life’s early experiences."

Catch Max Pope live when he plays a London EP launch show at Servant Jazz Quarters on September 26.
