Sydney teen Evie Irie spent five weeks in Los Angeles - which the 16-year-old has now channelled into her debut five-track EP, '5 Weeks In LA'.
"These are the ideas and emotions of a 16-year-old girl in this world trying to be seen," says the Australian alt-soul-pop singer-songwriter, signed to Republic Records. "With feelings and emotions and relatable stories and messages that I try to convey, it’s a point of view from me and a snapshot of my life in this moment."
With lyrics about anxiety and personal emotions, she lets her vulnerability and powerfully sensuous voice dictate the lead over glitchy electronics and subtle guitars.
A new Lorde in the making.
