Track Of The Week :: Moon Palace - Who You Are

Words: Izzy Butler

This is just a bit lush. Not any kind of lush, but Warpaint-esque lush; and anyone missing those gals, but sraw succour from Seattle indie quartet Moon Palace.

The four, led by twin sisters Cat (vocals, guitar) and Carrie (bass, vocals) Biell - with Jude Miqueli (drums) and Darcey Zoller (cello, synth) - released this contemplative new single, 'Who You Are', today, in advance of their upcoming second album 'Shadowcast', out August 23, which carries nine more tracks of ethereally-tinged, dreamy Beach House type waves.

Written by Carrie, 'Who You Are', she says, is "about witnessing somebody close to me go through a lot of volatile relationships and often thinking they were the common denominator. So it’s about being in relationships and recognizing the patterns that you fall into and sometimes it’s a good idea to look at yourself and reflect. It’s about being who you are and allowing yourself to be vulnerable in relationships."

Enjoy it now.
