** PREMIERE ** SLOUCH - Duplicity

Words: Ellie Ward

Glasgow-based five-piece Slouch are certainly not slouching around when it comes to new single, 'Duplicity'. With their love of a big chorus, resplendent guitars and a double dose of melodic synths, they pull all together in three minutes on the follow-up to 'In Your Mind’ from earlier this year.

Recorded over this summer in St. Helens with the Sugar House production duo, 'Duplicity' is officially released tomorrow (September 20), but Little Indie can give you a sneak hearing right now via our premiere here.

"The single deals with how the apathetic treatment of societies under-represented will ultimately lead to division and separation within those societies," explains guitarist Daniel MacRae on the song's lyrical theme, which somewhat belies its upbeat melodies. The exciting, 80s New Wave-blended 'Duplicity' is worked around post-punk guitar riffs with such infectious style, that it should leave you definitely groovin' and a' movin.

Listen in below. And you can then catch Slouch live at Broadcast in Glasgow on September 27 for their single release show.

Slouch are: Paul Burnett - vocals; Daniel MacRae - guitars, synths; Mark Hunter - guitars, synths; Ryan Smith - bass; Div Anderson - drums.
