Best new tracks Down Under #43

With the vibrant indie music scene in Australia and New Zealand constantly outshining much of the output from their British and American cousins, Little Indie picks our weekly bunch of some of the best new tracks on offer.

CUB SPORT - I NEVER CRIED SO MUCH IN MY WHOLE LIFE (feat. Darren Hayes)

The Brisbane alt-pop band team up with Savage Garden frontman Darren Hayes for a tear-jerker ballad, released October 17. Delicate guitar and lo-fi beats combine with a falsetto vocal to deliver intimate lyrics, described by Nelson, as “a song about happy crying. I remember being at home and looking over at Bolan (fellow band member and Nelson's husband), Miss and Eve (their dogs) on the couch - they all looked so beautiful and happy and I was filled with so much gratitude and happiness and pride for how far we’d come."

Produced by drummer Fraser Marshall, the alt-grunge punks from Newcastle precede a new EP arriving next year, with this four-minute taster. Hard guitars partner gritty vocals and a pounding, melodic beat to drive it through with ferocity. Catch on tour in November in Oz.
