Los Angeles duo Town Royals, singer/ songwriter Keith Longo and guitarist Chris Santillo (who met through a Craigslist post in 2014), have a new single out in the form of ‘Heartless City’.

After working as songwriters for other artists around, the two mark their debut as the new project.

With its soaring guitars and pounding drums, ‘Heartless City’ fuses their nostalgic influences with a bold, anthemic feel that is reminiscent of Imagine Dragons.

“’Heartless City’ at its core is about feeling stuck in a place that you can’t seem to break out of," they say of the track. "It doesn’t have to be a physical place necessarily, though it can be. It was written in a state of frustration, and at first listen it might sound like a there is a lot of negativity in it. There is, but the underlying emotion is a longing to break free and overcome, so ultimately there is a sense of optimism in there. We all have moments or periods of life where we think “I need to get out of this hole” and this song is an anthem for people who are trying to do that.”

Tune in here.
