A downtempo, melancholic debut by Brisbane-based alt-rock quartet Carpet Burn.
'Bundy Bowls Club', out today (November 29), makes for an affecting first shout at nearly five minutes in length, not least for the impassioned vocal of John Wayne Bennett delivering quirky, humorous lyrics on the demise of a bowls club, and Gwen McGrah providing a striking organ and synth accompaniment.
It quietly seeps into the consciousness, and by its midway build, you too will be sharing the feelings of their self-described "ode to a dying breed and a lament over the things that are never coming back."
