London-based Irish production duo St Francis Hotel have joined up with Theresa Wayman (Warpaint, TT) who provides vocals on new single, ’The Truth Is Dead’, out now via Danger Mouse’s 30th Century Records
Premiered by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC Radio 6 Music, ’The Truth Is Dead' - co-written with Carla Azar of Autolux - follows the duo’s critically acclaimed single ‘Liar, Liar, Liar (feat. Gaz Coombes)’ and is the latest to be taken from their upcoming debut album called 'We Fall Together', due in January.
Driven by heavy sub bass and Azar's looped beats, Wayman’s vocal gives the track an ominous atmosphere that echoes its lyrical themes.
“The track's title is probably pretty self-explanatory as to what it’s about," say the band. "It feels like the kind of song that could only be written now. If you put the four of us in a room together four years ago, we probably couldn’t have conceived this song. Hopefully in a year’s time people won’t need to write songs with titles like ’The Truth Is Dead’”.
