Track Of The Week :: 'Catch Up' with the jangly Stay Lunar
Words: Leah Raymond
South-west (Bristol/Swindon)-based five-piece Stay Lunar have just dropped their second single, 'Catch Up', last week, and if you haven't caught them already, how's about a... er, catch up, then.
"'Catch Up' is a song about pushing your feelings for someone to the back of your mind in an attempt to move on, only to have those feelings sickeningly resurrected when you bump into them in the future," reveals vocalist Harry Leigh of the follow up to 'Brainshake'. "It's the realisation that they never left your mind in the first place, and now it's all catching up with you."
Produced by the ubiquitous Sugar House team, Ady Hall and Lee McCarthy in St Helen's, 'Catch Up' may be lyrically inspired by being stuck in the memory of a relationship, but medically it hits just the right infectious note of indie pop with a brace of jangly hooks and sprinkled synths. And with two more singles in the pipeline for early next year, put Stay Lunar down as a band to watch.
