Track Of The Day :: Jaguar Jonze - Rabbit Hole
Words: Ellie Ward
Brisbane's Taiwanese/Australian indie pop-rock sensation Deena Lynch, aka Jaguar Jonze, has just released this new stunner, 'Rabbit Hole', last Friday.
The immediate clincher is a taster on the way to the release of her debut EP, and on which she delivers her trademark defiant ferocity through smoky vocals that straddle the line between fragile and feisty.
"'Rabbit Hole' is about the chaos of my PTSD episodes, my defences and the quirks I've developed over time through unprocessed trauma," she explains. "[It] explores the relationship we have with our vulnerabilities and how it manifests into different coping mechanisms.
"I guess I was in the thick of trying to learn about my C-PTSD, how to be gentle to myself and also begin the process of slowly undoing it in a healthy way. Music and art have become integral to my healing and awareness and 'Rabbit Hole' was another part of that exploration.”
You can catch Jaguar Jonze live on February 14 at OAF Gallery in
Darlinghurst, Sydney.
