With the vibrant indie music scene in Australia and New Zealand constantly outshining much of the output from their British and American cousins, Little Indie picks our weekly bunch of some of the best new tracks on offer.
FRENCH CONCESSION - PEAK
Heard back in February with 'End Of Time', Sydney-based Hong Kong/NZ experimental electronic artist Ella Chau released this latest track 'Peak' earlier this month. The atmospheric four minutes is filled with Chau's ethereal vocal and hypnotic harmonies in a softly etched soundscape.
Auckland, NZ rapper PollyHill, aka Paloma Schneideman, treats us to 'Mentors', her new experimental, off-kilter charger. "When I first made the beat it wasn't for me. I made that muddy acid
bass sound that's at the heart of the track, and I was like - who would
sound stunning on this cos it's not very PollyHill?" she says. "But then I was like, fuck it, I birthed it, it
must be PollyHill. It made me wanna experiment with flow and go off a
little. I also liked the idea of having a track that people don't
necessarily have to listen to so closely."
Sydney grunge rock four-piece make their debut with 'The Fool'. Deliciously delivered vocals are accompanied by low-key guitar and pacing drums.
MILKPUNCH - POLLY GUMMY

The title track from the Sydney garage rock trio's new EP, released last week. Produced by 21-year-old Brazilian-Australian vocalist Raf Lima, the fuzzy 90s styled 'Polly Gummy' takes a lo-fi stroll, mixed with alternate power-pop interludes.
ADAM HATTAWAY AND THE HAUNTERS - BIG NIGHT
Christchurch, NZ's Adam Hattaway and The Haunters share their guitar-heavy, alt-rock new track 'Big Night', taken from their forthcoming album 'Woolston, Texas', out March 26 2021.
