Australia's Kate Boy Turn On The 'Northern Lights'

Kate Boy, the Australian singer-songwriter Kate Akhurst (vocals) and Swedish production team Hampus Nordgren Hemlin, Oskar Sikow Engström and Markus Dextegen, announce their debut EP 'Northern Lights' for UK release on March 11 on Iamsound Records.

The self produced EP shows off their sumptuous yet spacial take on electro-pop teaming strong melodic hooks with smart production trickery.

“We decided to do this on our own: no producers, no money, no fancy equipment; just our minds and ideas.” say the band. A tactic that's paid off; as one scribe noted, “It’s not their fault that their music oozes luxury.”

B-side “In Your Eyes” is glacially exuberant, delivering another gratifyingly infectious chorus. Also included on the EP are re-mixes of the title track by fellow Scandinavian Victoria Bergsman of Taken By Trees and LA beat-maker Belief plus a reworking by LA based electronic group Superhumanoids.
