September 20 2013 - Hot Top Ten



KILTO TAKE - MIMIC
Single taken from the November released debut album 'Resolute'. This is a big-sounding track from the Hertfordshire indie rock trio that look like being a 'one to watch'.





TIED TO THE MAST - MELISSA
New Brighton five-piece influenced by likes of QOTSA, Pixies, Sonic Youth. The three guitarists power punk dynamics and big riffs on this October 21 digital release.





BABYPINK - FEEBLE
First of three Birmingham bands featured this week. Formerly known as Sugar, thus is the debut from the quartet who have supported the likes of Superfood and Wolf Alice. Big on basslines and catchy riffs.





BAD MOON - YOU
Second of the Brum posse. Four-piece with a Nirvana-like sound who emerged Kate last year. Featured in our new Birmingham bands series back in April.





EAT Y'SELF PRETTY - YO! MISERABLE
Third from Birmingham. Quirky indie electronic-pop five-piece. 'Yo! Miserable' one side of the double A single - with 'Rainbows and Waterfalls' - which was released on September 7.





COASTS - STAY
This has been a massive year for Bristol-based quartet, who embark on a UK tour next month, as well as releasing this as their next single on October 14, to be followed by an EP in early 2014.





TINY PLANETS - TWO HEARTS
Single by Wakefield crew (who trade an indie rock Frightened Rabbit/British Sea Power vibe) out on September 23. They play launch show tonight (September 20) at The Hop in Wakefield.





WOMAN'S HOUR - DARKEST PLACE
Stripped back dreampop from London-based Cumbrian outfit. Formed in 2011 and fronted by lush vocalled Fiona Burgess. Play 6 dates in late October/early November with Glass Animals and San Fermin. 'Darkest Place' released on October 21 thru the eponymous Luv Luv Luv label.





YOUNG UNKNOWNS - I WANT TO LOSE
Minimalist pop Brooklyn four-piece fronted by dulcet-voiced guitarist Meredith Meyer. Came to notice in January with cover of The Cars' 'Drive'.





DELTAR - ISABELLE
Four-piece from Cambridgeshire who will digitally make this available for download on October 2. The band play a launch gig the same night at London's Notting Hill Arts Club.
